MY VALUE IN GOD’S EYES

The quality of the lives we live is mostly dependent on what we believe our lives are worth. This is so because the way we live our lives is directly tied to the value we have come to believe that our lives carry. Unfortunately though, we have a limited understanding of who should be the authority on the evaluation of our lives. Therefore based on erroneous conclusions about the value of our lives, we have many times allowed ourselves to believe wrong and consequently live outside of who we truly are.

Value means, relative worth in terms of quality, desirability, usefulness, importance and so on. Simply put, the value of ones life is the worth placed on that life. Who determines the worth of a human being? A created being like he? Another human being? What would be the parameters, the standards, and how upright, how unbiased, how unprejudised would such parameters be?

Would it be right for me to evaluate the quality of another person’s life based on what he does or does not do for me? Is it okay if i say a person is useless, simply because i find it difficult or downright impossible to co-habit with that person? What parameters would i have used if i conclude that a person is ugly? What authority does a man have to evaluate the worth of another man? A created person would believe that there are some facts that can be used to evaluate the worth of a man. Unfortunately, facts are not strong enough to determine the weight of a person.

People are entitled to their private summations and personal opinions, but no man is an authority on the value of the life of another. Who then is the authority on the value of our lives?

The word ‘authority’ is derived from two words- ‘author’ and ‘ity’. Author means- originator or creator; ity is a suffix that simply indicates a ‘state’, that is , (in this case), the state of being a creator. Author + ity = ‘author’ity’, meaning therefore, “the state of being a creator”.

”So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.” -Gen1:27.
GOD is the AUTHORITY on the life of man. He is the creator and the originator of man. He is the one who can adequately and successfully evaluate the worth of a man.

How then does one know what to believe? Simple. We just go on and believe the truth. Yes, there are some facts of our lives that may tend to bring a negative and derogatory summation when gathered together, but that is just what they are – facts. A known fact today, is most likely to become modified, reorganised or displaced tomorrow. Facts are variables, subject to change at any time. Facts are inconstant and they change from place to place, situation to situation, time to time. We cannot afford to live our lives based on facts, we need something more solid, more tangible and more reliable.

Truth is constant. Truth remains and abides forever, unchangable and unalterable. The word of God is TRUTH- 2Tim2:15. Whatsoever God has spoken is the truth that you should believe about yourself. No matter what has been said about you or what you have been through, that has bound you to believe ill of yourself and to live poorly; the truth of God that you begin to receive will set you free. ”And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32.

Get God’s take today on what your worth is. Gen1:28 says you are made in the image and likeness of the greatest entity – God. Gen1:31 states that God looked at everything He made and as high as His standards must be, He commented on how good His creation was, and that is talking about you. Ecc3:11 says you are beautiful through and through, a finished product of originality and uniqueness; You cannot be undone. Zech2:8 tells about you being the apple of God’s eye, and Is43:4 clearly says you are precious to Him, and honourable and He loves you with a passion.

You mean more than the whole world to God. You are the greatest and the most valuable of all His creations. Even the angels in heaven are made lower than you- Ps 8. He calls you a King- Rev1:6. You are so valuable to Him that He had to give up His Son to die for you so that you might not lose your value.

The truth of God’s word is what gives your life value. Without this truth, situations, circumstances, people, facts and even you, are always ready to devalue your life. Agree and align with the truth. Receive the truth. Receive God and let His word have full expression in your life.

You are as inferior as you allow yourself to believe you are. You are as important as you believe you are. Your thoughts affect your life. What you believe about yourself will help you live in the truth of what God says about you. The much or the little you believe about what God has spoken concerning you is who you will live to be. Believing and aligning in your mind with who God says you are releases unto you power to come into full manifestation of who you truly are. When you have a positive disposition about yourself and life, you are more likely to be responsive to and make a clear path for good and beautiful things to come your way. When you believe within you that your life has a great deal of value placed on it, you handle your life with love and care; giving no one, including yourself, any occassion to abuse or to manhandle you.

You are of great value in God’s eyes. Believe it. Live it. -KJO

We need to know our place in the Lord to know who we are. I am a child of the King, so I am ROYALTY. He created me in His image, so I cannot be inferior. I am beautifully and wonderfully made. So why should I accept another MAN’s opinion about me especially if it is negative???

    Beautiful Piece!!!!!!!!!!

Well written Kemi. I appreciate that you are making this profound effort to encourage others. Our lives are of the greatest worth when we repent of our sin and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. And no amount of money or self respect can change that. God bless.
