ASSOCIATIONS AND FRIENDSHIPS (1)

Associations and Friendships.

A friend is an intimate acquaintance. An associate is one with whom you keep company or one with whom you join in partnership. Friendship is relationship. When two people or more connect, either by being allies or kindred, they are said to relate. Who are my friends? What kind of people do i associate with? Does it matter who my friends are?

Your friends are very crucial to your life. No association ever leaves you the same. You are affected either for good, or for bad by your relationships. Every relationship touches your life and makes a meaningful impact: either negative, or positive. Your relationships are very important, they are a determining factor in your life; for example, your esteem is determined by the company you keep, your standing and reputation is highly affected by the people you regularly associate with. What kind of people are you keeping company with?

Friendship must not be taken lightly. Those with whom you fraternize can determine the course of your destiny. David the shepherd boy made friends with Jonathan, the son of king Saul of Israel. This friendship saved David from death and sealed his destiny as the future king of Israel. Jonathan willingly handed over the throne of Israel to David; all because of their divinely orchestrated friendship.

Your relationships matter. Friendship connects, associations link. Friendships and associations can promote, they can bring honour, acclaim and great affluence. Associations can also disconnect and smear.

Your present associations and relationships might just be one of the major reasons why you are still where you are at right now. The present company you keep might just be a limitation. Most times, it might not be that there is anything wrong with the particular person/s with whom you are relating. It might just be that the association is not right for you at that time or in that manner. Every relationship has it’s life span, every relationship has it’s operative time frame or phase.
